Homosexual Hitlers

The fuss and furor is starting up again. No matter how many times homosexual marriage is voted down in California, the true believers, those politicizing sexuality, refuse to take "No" for reality. Now it's going before the Supreme Court, and it doesn't matter. If the SCOTUS affirms that homosexual marriage is a protected 'right', then that is what we will have as the law of the land. We are a nation of Laws, and obey even those which we think are wrong.
But...
If the SCOTUS says no, if the Court rules that it is not a protected right...that will not stop the political agitators one bit. They will go on, crusading for their beliefs as if SCOTUS has no right to decide such matters.
"Stay OUT of our Bedrooms, SCOTUS!" will be the strident screed of the day.
It's really quite simple. Those sexual agitators who wish to make homosexual marriage legal are not going to be swayed by law, reason or argument. They are as fully invested in their being 'Right' as Hitler was about the Aryans being human perfection. He could not be swayed by law, reason or argument, either.
Bottom line: God is in charge, and what He says is proper and right will ultimately be all that matters. When Christ returns to set up His Kingdom, He will rule the nations with a rod of iron, and this world will be a much better place.

Happy Eastre, Ya Pagans!

One thing about Pagans-they DO know how to party! Nothing gets a pagan
salivating for a treat more than that treat being verboten for Lent.
I grew up Lutheran, but it's been so long since that sham had any influence on me that I've lost all
track of religious holidays.
I don't celebrate Easter. This Good Friday I will be working. You can have Christmas; I'm all done with it.
I WILL be celebrating my Lord's Resurrection on the same day that pagans enjoy Easter.
No chocolate bunnies. No chocolate crosses. No Easter lilies. Not just for Lent-I've given up
religion for life.
May you someday understand what I'm talking about if you don't already.

The Precocious Ferocious

Her third science fair of the year. Great. The Teeneboppers were in full crazy, screaming and clamoring
for her smile, her wave. Her soul.
Teenebopp, with her spangled hair and signature outfit, looked around the stadium, cursing the day that she became the beloved science nerd/star of her Dalt Wisney network show, "Science with Teenebopp!"
Sure, she was the idol of millions of pre-teen girls and boys; her dvds, coloring books and fashion would pay her way for life, but she had to learn to pronounce all sorts of  scientific garbage and act all geniusy and nerdy. Three seasons in, she was a pro but, as Teenebopp was a 14 year old genius, she was forced by
Mr Wisney to make public appearances 'judging' science fairs for his network "Specials".
Mostly the truly nerdy kids didn't know who she was supposed to be, but the Teeneboppers fan club
showed up every event, screaming and wave shouting like the mindless mass that they were.
Teenebopper looked over the competing demos. One, two, three baking soda volcanoes. Two video games-one with warriors, the other monkeys, being demonstrated by their pint sized creators.
Hey! A robot that actually juggles! That must be the winner-Teenebopp checked the cue card being held
by a bored nameless, and saw that the winning science fair creation was...one of the volcanoes. Ah well.
The robot's movements were seamless,  keeping three balls and a test tube bouncing in the air. Its inventor,
a 12 year old boy stood proudly by with his family, which included a slightly older sister who was way too cute.
Teenebopper called over a producer nameless, whispered in his ear and walked to her spot. After
two beats, the producer approached the family and cute sister was moved to the back of the shot behind daddy.
The production music started, the crowds cheered louder as the cameras circled excitedly through before centering on The Smiling, The Delightful...Teenebopp!
Lights up! Recording! And...
when her eyes adjusted to the glare, Teenebopp  found herself in a dark, barren place. She could feel something like ground beneath her feet, but couldn't make out any features; the place felt...empty.
In front of her appeared a man followed by three others. He was the most handsome thing Teenebopp
had ever seen. One of the others spoke.
"I...do not know this place.".
The handsome man smiled and said,
"It's a place for my testing. I will pass the test-you just watch."
Teenebopp couldn't contain herself. She said, "YOU are beautiful!" and the man smiled at her; instantly
a dark fire erupted from his chest and his smile turned to horror. Two of the men flew away,
leaving the man  and one other standing in front of Teenebopp
whose eyes, adjusted to the glare, were once more were looking into the television cameras as the crowds screamed with joy.
Teenebopp looked around. The volcanoes were spewing baking soda, the video gamers were oblivious to the science fair...and the robot dropped a ball and the test tube.
"14    “You were the anointed cherub who covers,     And I placed you there.     You were on the holy mountain of God;     You walked in the midst of the stones of fire.
15    “You were blameless in your ways     From the day you were created     Until unrighteousness was found in you.
16    “By the abundance of your trade     You were internally filled with violence,     And you sinned;     Therefore I have cast you as profane     From the mountain of God.     And I have destroyed you, O covering cherub,     From the midst of the stones of fire.
17    “Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty;     You corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor.     I cast you to the ground;     I put you before kings,     That they may see you.
18    “By the multitude of your iniquities,     In the unrighteousness of your trade     You profaned your sanctuaries.     Therefore I have brought fire from the midst of you;     It has consumed you,     And I have turned you to ashes on the earth     In the eyes of all who see you. Striated Aging

My head (the encasement of my mind) is, as always, about 20 years old.
My arms and upper torso are vintage 30, or so.
Last night, after rip-tearing around on the job, my legs felt to be about 75.
S'all right.
I praise God for His many blessings; those parts of the Bible which tell
us that He will take care of His own, so there is no need to worry or stress
or fear?
They still hold true. Better than gold.

Disproportionate Share of Wealth

Just finished season two of Downton Abbey, which showcases the struggle between
the haves and the have nots, the blue bloods and the red necks, the gilded lilies and crabgrass.
Isn't it amazing that, across the board, actors and actresses, writers of film/television, BBC, Hollywood
and New York, if tossed up into the air would land on the Liberal side of political map?
Actors and actresses (and writers and producers and...) have ability, beauty, strength...and soon learn to depend on them to make it through life.
I'm going to use the sisters of Downton (shown above) as an example. Each actress is beautiful, and all three do a good job acting on the show. It would be easy for them to fall into the idea that their beauty will carry them through life, as it opened the doors of the Abbey to them.
But money and power and talent and 'stardom' (and youth and beauty) are more transient than sunbeams.
Here's why it is so rare to find Christians/Conservatives in the land of media make believe:
we rely on God. We do not trust in our flesh, our abilities, our strengths to make it through, but are totally
dependent on God.
What this world finds important and idolizes is 180 degrees away from God. Media perpetuates the idea that image CAN trump reality. In the end, when Christ returns and sets this world right, His Reality which has been the only reality since He Created us will be the all in all in all. And all false worship of the things which this world holds dear will crumble to ashes.

Blessings Surer Than Sunshine

It isn't the least bit comical, but the world's willful blindness about God makes me shake my head.
Stars above, sunshine, living creatures...all the result of ...chaos? Not God? All things just simply happen? What I'm saying is this: if everything 'just happened' without God that would be chaos.
Entropy is the 'breaking down' of a system. Breaking down? From chaos TO order? Wouldn't that be swimming upstream sideways?
FROM chaos you cannot get order. You only get more chaos.
But there IS order. Stars above, light and darkness, living creatures genetically coded down to a sub-molecular level.
If we came from chaos, if there is no order to Creation, if all 'just happens' then how is it that you have the ability to recognize that you are reading words on a screen right now?
Here, have some limited chaos-I will shut my eyes and randomly hit keys:
"Eyes shut-kkkld I fjdfeojdcdkiafvkvdflamgifrgkforgit that I can houch ghpd z gvf[a oj v[amfv["
We live in an ordered Creation because we have a Creator Who IS.
And He Blesses us all with many gifts. He has Blessed you. Even if you can't see it.

The Quieter Man

Here's the here's, friends. Watched John Ford's "The Quiet Man" again last night, and it was as good as ever. The principals (above) plus Maureen Ohara (also above) got together for a corker of a County Cork
Kind of show. Good stuff-watch it for St. Paddy's Day.
I am constantly reminded of and experiencing the Blessings of God in my life. Especially in the midst of
all kinds of chaos, God is there and all is right. How does this tie in with the movie?
Every good movie has conflict and resolution. Every life has conflicts we hate and resolutions which are not always to our liking.
But the Christian has something else-we have God who supplies the best possible Happy Ending for all that
He brings into His family.
The best news is that God still saves people, and the family is growing bigger every day.
Praise God for His Loving-kindness!

Changes-No Expedience Necessary

So, you might have noticed a few changes here at FDW-if I don't mix it up every once in a while, it gets boring.I think I write that same sentence every time I change the blog.
I haven't touched on current events much lately-I assume that things are going to get worse, for our country and the world. {shrugs}
I just finished a book by Pastor J. Vernon McGee where he answered questions put to him on his radio show. The book was published in 1990, but the answers and questions are universal. Pastor McGee pointed out that we Christians shouldn't be surprised when corrupt human governments act corruptly...but that we honor God by being good citizens of those governments whether or not they are corrupt. God will deal with
the corrupt, the proud, and it isn't going to be pretty.
By the time the book was published Pastor McGee was already in Heaven, so he missed out on seeing the
tricks our present government is perpetrating.
He wrote something that startled me: he suggested that during the Millennial reign of Christ, we Christians may have the ability to move back and forth between Heaven and the Earth. Huh?
Of course, if God wants us to do so, it will happen, but I can't imagine it happening because WE want to do
it-I doubt that there would be many of us left on Earth. An interesting book.
As for the title-I actually saw a job posting where they wrote 'expedience' for 'experience'. I might have mentioned this before, but once I was hired as maintenance manager for an apartment complex; I was the only applicant who had spelled "Maintenance" correctly.
Life is fun I tell ya!

She Crashed Her Car

Jenni had it all-beauty, brains, a happy life and a great job, anchoring the evening news on the number one television network.
Once upon a time, before she became an anchor, she was working a story on terrorism and found herself
staring into the muzzle of a machine gun held by a very frightened terrorist.
“I don’t believe in violence.” she said, walking away to alert the authorities.
Another time (after becoming the anchor) she stopped at a traffic light and a man with a knife pulled her car door open and threatened to kill her.
“Is this a car-jacking? I don’t believe in car-jacking.” she said, speeding off, and she made it home for dinner.
But then another time she crashed her car and died and found herself standing before God.
“Jenni,” He said, “You did not believe in my Son, and you are going to Hell.”
“I don’t believe in Hell.”
God paused, staring at her.
“You…don’t …believe in Hell?”
“No.”
“You don’t fear eternal torment?”
“Not even a little bit.”
God thought for a moment.
“Well, Jenni, I guess you can stay here in Heaven then. I mean, if we were to put all of my Creation and plan for Salvation on a scale opposite your personal opinion, they’d come out about even, so who’s to say, right?”
“I don’t believe in Heaven. Or You.”
And with that Heaven and God disappeared into nothingness, and Jenni lived happily ever after.

Laugh At Darkness

"1    How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,     Nor stand in the path of sinners,     Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
2    But his delight is in the law of the LORD,     And in His law he meditates day and night." Psalm 1:1-2

I wish I could say that I am a 'super-Christian' who never sins and keeps as close to God as he can, but truth
be told, I'm just a guy. I don't always meditate on His law day and night. I'd be better off if I did, but I don't.
Let me tell you about another guy. He claims to be a life-long Christian, but when asked, he couldn't identify
whether 1 Corinthians was in the Old Or New Testament.
It's not about book learning-no one becomes a Christian simply because he's read the Bible.
There are many who come to Christ who cannot even read, but here's the thing:
True Christians will be drawn to God's Word, will take it in and be nourished by it.
False Christians such as the one I just mentioned...not a chance. The Bible is a closed book to them, and what they can't understand they ignore and do with out.
You might ask how is it that I even know of this guy?
I know because I look into darkness, I study the vain imaginings of the foolish, especially those arrogant souls who claim to be Christians while rejecting what God has said in His Word. They worship a weaker, impotent god who might be known by any of a thousand names. Their god is so benevolent that everybody
gets into Heaven and hell is only a fairy tale to scare the ignorant.
God is greater than anyone can imagine, and yet He is so caring that He does save some rather than scrapping the whole mess and starting over. One of my favorite verses from Job 34:14-15:
"14    “If He should determine to do so,     If He should gather to Himself His spirit and His breath,
15    All flesh would perish together,     And man would return to dust."
You can read this now because He hasn't done that. He has made a way for Salvation through Jesus Christ, and may it be that He will draw you to Himself.
